The goals came in bunches for the Tenino girls soccer team on Monday, when the Beavers topped Onalaska 6-0 on the blacktop in Tenino.

Kylie Gonia opened the scoring with a goal in the 21st minute, and Maria Summers scored off an assist from Kyla Watson three minutes later to double the advantage.

Just three minutes after the break, Callie Mickelson scored her first of the night, and two minutes later, Summers secured a brace while making it 4-0.

Mickelson secured her brace after another five minutes, and Sophie Espino got on the scoresheet with a goal in the 67th minute. Espino and Mickelson both also finished the night with an assist.

Tenino wasn’t only able to score in the run of play. Summers' first goal came off a corner from Watson, and Espino’s goal came shortly after a ball popped out of the box off another corner.

“It’s really fun because we have so much versatility in our squad right now,” Tenino coach Trevor Fetbrandt said. “We can hurt teams in so many ways, and tonight felt like a microcosm of that. You can take away stuff, but you can't take away everything. It feels like we can constantly adjust, and we know it's difficult for other teams to deal with.”

Gracie Sweet had one save, which came in the game’s final moments. That was the only shot Tenino allowed, as the Beavers outshot Onalaska 22-1 and earned eight corners and conceded only one.

Fetbrandt praised his entire team, specifically his back line for understanding the defensive assignments and his bench for integrating into the game and acclimating to the varsity game.

The Beavers (4-1-1) are off until Saturday, when they will face Cascade in Leavenworth.
