Tied at nine after the first quarter, the Tenino High School girls basketball team couldn’t make it stick and eventually fell to Elma 64-42 on Friday night on the road in a 1A Evergreen League contest.
It was a one-woman wrecking ball for the Eagles. Olivia Moore shined with a 32-point performance and a chunk of her damage came from the free throw line, going 10-of-13. Tenino (3-10, 0-2 Evergreen) dropped its third straight game.
Charley Jones paced the Beavers with 16 points and Kylie Gonia added 11. They will play a back-to-back next week with another league game versus Hoquiam on Tuesday, then battle Toledo on Wednesday.
“There’s always something to learn,” Tenino head coach Kirsi Gofinch said. “I felt like we held on and kept fighting.”
