The Black Hills boys basketball team narrowly prevailed past Shelton 51-50 in a back-and-forth contest Tuesday night that kicked off EvCo action.
Reigning EvCo MVP James Morgan put up a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds, and junior Peyton Faught scored eight of his 14 points in the fourth quarter. Faught’s outburst came up clutch for the Wolves, who led by two at halftime and stretched the lead to eight in the third before Shelton came back to take a three-point lead in the fourth.
Quinton Morrill and Talon Morrill combined to score 21 points, with Quinton taking the slight scoring lead over his twin brother with 11 points.
Black Hills (8-3, 1-0 EvCo) has now won three straight and will look to make it four when it hosts W.F. West (3-7, 0-1 EvCo) Friday night.
