The Capital baseball team no-hit Lincoln in a 17-0 shutout victory in five innings in Tacoma Tuesday. Easton Bramble and Hayden Deskus combined to strike out five in the dominant performance.
Capital opened up a 5-0 lead in the first inning thanks to a two-run single by Isaac Linville and a two-run triple by Bramble. Brooks Barker stayed hot offensively with a two-run single in the third inning as part of a five-run frame. The Cougars tallied four more runs in the fourth and three in the fifth.
Bramble and Linville each finished with three RBIs, while Barker and Lane Nixon each tallied two.
“Easton did a good job getting ahead of hitters and attacking with his fastball. Hayden came in and worked a quick final inning, which was great to see,” Capital head coach Brian Shannon said. “We’ve been working hard defensively, and we’ve had some improvement recently, playing much cleaner baseball.”
Capital (8-10, 7-7 Puget Sound League) is in third place in the PSL Nisqually; while both Capital and Timberline are 7-7 in league play, the Cougars own the tiebreaker as they swept the Blazers earlier this month. The Cougars will visit Gig Harbor (12-6, 12-2 PSL) Wednesday.
