Capital pitcher Max Hanson held Gig Harbor off the scoreboard for four innings before the tides turned in the fifth and sixth innings.
Gig Harbor scored a run on a sacrifice fly in the fifth before breaking through in the sixth with six runs to beat Capital 5-0 at Sehmel Homestead Park Wednesday. Capital’s offense could only muster up three hits and did not have a runner reach third base.
Hanson finished with five strong innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on two hits, four walks and one strikeout. Brooks Barker, Isaac Linville and Easton Bramble recorded the three hits for the Cougars.
Capital (8-11, 7-8 Puget Sound League) has one game remaining on its regular season schedule as Bellarmine (8-9, 8-7 PSL) comes to town Monday, May 4. The Cougars will celebrate their seniors before the game.
