The Capital baseball team’s run in the District 3 3A Tournament came to a close Tuesday at the hands of the Enumclaw Hornets 7-3 in the first round.

Capital led 3-1 after the top of the fourth inning as the Cougars plated two runs off an error in the third inning and one on a Xavier Green RBI single in the fourth. The Cougars struggled to get outs in the bottom of the fourth, with the first five Hornets reaching base and two scoring runs to tie the game.

Enumclaw took the lead on an RBI groundout and a two-run single to cap off a five-run fourth. The Hornets added a run on a dropped third strike in the fifth. Capital had just three hits, two coming from the bat of Green.

Brooks Barker pitched four innings and allowed six runs on four hits, four walks and three strikeouts. Isaac Linville entered in the fifth and struck out four while giving up one run on one hit.

Capital finishes the 2026 season with a record of 9-12 and 8-8 in the Puget Sound League. Five seniors graduate from the program — Garred Clark, Max Hanson, Hayden Deskus, Isaac Linville and Aiden Bunker.
