Centralia’s Ethan Weiher and Black Hills’ Maddie Knight finished in first at Fort Borst Park on Wednesday, where Centralia, Black Hills, and Shelton competed in an EvCo meet.
Weiher finished the boys race in 18:22.3, narrowly defeating Black Hills’ Seth Thomasson, who took second at 18:25.0.
Centralia’s Caden Hackett took seventh with a time of 20:32.8, while fellow Tiger Peiton Tinsley rounded out the top 10 at 21:05.0. Black Hills’ Nathan Brazil was the second-best finisher for the Wolves, posting a time of 21:19.4.
On the girls side, Knight clocked a 21:30.4, finishing nearly 45 seconds ahead of Centralia’s Liesl Stout, who crossed the finish line at 22:14.8.
Centralia’s Eva Stout and Ellie Stout took fourth and fifth and 23:35.5 and 23:52.0, and Esther Hopkins finished in sixth at 23:57.7.
Black Hills’ Averie Reynolds notched a top-10 finish by placing eighth at 24:28.4, and Centralia’s Andi Voetberg rounded out the girls Top 10 with a time of 24:52.5.
