The Northwest Christian volleyball team made quick work of Muckleshoot Tribal School in a 25-9, 25-6, 25-10 sweep in Auburn Tuesday, Sept. 29.

One day after traveling an hour southwest to Pe Ell and beating the Trojans in five sets, the Wolverines trekked 50 minutes northeast to Auburn and pounded the Kings with 20 aces as a team.

Mimi Espinoza led the Wolverines with seven aces, while Jess Collins added six and Rileigh Frost supplied five. Addy Hentges led Northwest Christian in kills again with 10, and Collins dished 22 assists.

“It’s impressive that these girls can play the way they do with such a busy schedule. Tonight, our focus was confidence,” Northwest Christian co-head coach Sarah Barnard said. “Muckleshoot is well-coached and has tons of potential. Mimi, Jess and Rileigh had some great serving runs.”

Barnard also highlighted the steadiness of defensive specialist Cora Severson, whose prowess in serve receive set up Collins to have another big night passing the ball.

Northwest Christian (7-3, 3-0 Sea-Tac League) will finish the week with a third lengthy road trip, this time to Bremerton to face Crosspoint Christian Thursday, Oct. 1.
