Daytime lane closures on U.S. 101 in Olympia April 7-9

Posted

Travelers who use U.S. 101 in Olympia are advised to plan for three days of lane closures. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, through Thursday, April 9, travelers will see left-lane closures in both directions on the highway.

The lane closures create a work zone for crews working for the Washington state Department of Ecology to pick up litter in the median. During the lane closures, Washington state Department of Transportation crews will also cut back vegetation.

Work will occur along a mile of highway each day. Crews will start near Mud Bay Road Northwest and move south toward Interstate 5 until work is complete. This work is being performed during the day when both workers and travelers are more easily seen.

Travelers are encouraged to add extra travel time and expect congestion approaching work zones. Go before or after work hours to avoid delays.
