The Evergreen State College men’s soccer team pulled away from Simpson University with two second-half goals scored fewer than three minutes apart to win 2-0 at home Sunday afternoon.
Junior defender Brock Larsen scored the Geoducks’ first goal in the 57th minute, knocking in a header off an assist from Luca Viana. In the 60th minute, junior defender Markus Winkler-Cook extended Evergreen’s lead on a point-blank shot off assists from Kolby Juarez and Viana.
Evergreen outshot Simpson 14-8 overall and 7-1 in shots on target. The Geoducks completed non-conference play with an undefeated record of 2-0-2 and will begin Cascade Collegiate Conference play Friday, Sept. 18 at home against Oregon Tech.
