Capital senior Tanner Fricke boomed four goals into the net as the Cougars pounced on Peninsula 7-2 Monday night to win their seventh straight match.

The Cougars scored four goals in the first half and three in the second half, matching their season high of seven goals.

“I think the boys showed what they can do when they are clicking offensively and playing for each other. Most of the goals tonight came off good movement and unselfish play in the attacking third,” Capital head coach Jeremy Richtmyre said.

Jaden Annan wasted no time scoring as he dropped a goal in the second minute. Zade Watson took a pass from Landin Vargas and scored in the 11th, and Fricke netted two in the 21st and the 26th minutes, first off an assist from Quinton Fisher and then from Annan.

Fricke tallied another in the 43rd minute to complete a hat trick, and his brother Asher Fricke got in on the scoring action in the 54th. Tanner added to his total in the 64th minute. Annan finished with three assists on Fricke goals.

“I come into every game with confidence, and I know I put the work in every day. I am really happy to score the four goals,” Fricke said. “But most important was getting the win. This is a special group of guys, and we have a bunch of dawgs. I love playing with Jaden. He’s really talented, and I think that we are one of the best attacking duos in the state.”

Capital (10-1-1, 5-0-0 Puget Sound League) will face perhaps its biggest test of the season Thursday night when it visits North Thurston (6-2-4, 3-1-1 Puget Sound League) at South Sound Stadium.
