Kaden Hansen scored a career-best 37 points as the Saint Martin's University men's basketball team defeated Western Washington 89-76 Thursday.
The Saints have now won 11 straight games, tying a program record for the longest winning streak.
Saint Martin's opened the game on a 7-0 run, and another 18-0 run midway through the first half opened up a 22-point lead. Hansen scored 16 points in the first half as the Saints led 45-29 at halftime.
After the Saints took a 54-34 advantage with 17 minutes and 18 seconds left in the game, the Vikings crawled back with a 22-10 run to cut the margin to eight with just under 10 minutes remaining. WWU came as close as to within four points with five minutes left, but a couple of clutch baskets by Patrick Kilfoil sealed the game for the Saints, who improve to 6-0 in GNAC play and 14-2 overall.
Hansen finished with 37 points on 10 of 22 shooting, 4 of 12 from 3-point range, and a perfect 13 of 13 at the free-throw line. Kilfoil scored 16 points, pulled down seven rebounds and dished out four assists. Diego Trejo-Delgado added 10 points and seven rebounds, while Anthony Simo and Pablo Navarro both finished with double-digit rebounds with 10 and 13, respectively.
Saint Martin's will look to break the program record for the longest winning streak against Simon Fraser at home Saturday night.
