Jeff Curry seeks to ensure that Thurston County’s utility services remain fair, reliable and affordable for every resident.
To do so, Curry is running for Position 3 on the Thurston PUD Board of Commissioners.
“I am committed to common-sense leadership that protects your hard-earned money while
preparing our county for the future,” Curry writes in a statement submitted to the Thurston County Voter’s Pamphlet.
Curry did not respond to the Thurston Chronicle’s request for an interview, but did provide some information for the voter’s pamphlet on his experience and priorities for office.
Curry has served on the board for the Scott Lake community’s local water district, and is a small business owner with a two-year technology degree from South Puget Sound Community College.
“With a background in running a local small business and managing complex logistics, I know how to get things done efficiently,” Curry stated.
He has also volunteered to support the Kiwanis Club through the Union Gospel Mission in Seattle and Olympia, and has delivered food for local food banks statewide.
“I am ready to bring this dedication and hands-on water management experience to Thurston County,” Curry wrote.
If elected to the Thurston PUD, Curry said he would focus on affordability, expanding solar energy and investing in clean water technology.
Adding practical solar resources to the local grid would energy independence, diversify the power supply and improve long-term sustainability, Curry stated.
Regarding clean water technology, Curry wants to develop a user-friendly water quality mobile app. The app would allow anyone in Thurston County to instantly check the water quality in their area right from their phone.
“I ask for your vote to bring practical solutions, accountability, and modern innovation to our Public Utility District,” Curry writes in the voter’s pamphlet. “Together, we can keep Thurston County strong, sustainable, and affordable.”
