The Saint Martin’s men’s basketball team’s winning streak, which reached 14 Saturday, has now extended across four states.

The Saints stormed into Nampa, Idaho, and knocked off Northwest Nazarene 79-63 Saturday behind a career-high 35 points from freshman Patrick Kilfoil.

Kilfoil was hot from the tip, hitting his first four shots, including three 3-pointers, to reach 11 points just four minutes and 39 seconds into the contest.

He finished with 18 points in the first half as Saint Martin’s held a 42-33 halftime lead. The Saints led by as many as 13 points in the first half and only trailed in the opening minute when the Nighthawks led 3-0.

Saint Martin’s shot 56% from the field in the first half, including 6 of 14 from behind the arc. In the second half, Northwest Nazarene went on multiple runs, and on most occasions, Kilfoil was responsible for cutting the Nighthawks’ run short. The Nighthawks got as close as four before the Saints quickly extended their lead into double digits, where it stayed for the remainder of the game.

Kilfoil, whose previous career-high was 19 points, shot 11 of 18 from the field and 6 of 11 from 3-point range. Diego Trejo-Delgado added 24 points, with 16 points coming from the free-throw line.

Saint Martin’s (17-2, 9-0 GNAC) will welcome Montana State Billings to Marcus Pavilion Thursday night.
