Lane closure on I-5 near Grand Mound set for Monday, Sept. 21

Daytime travelers who use southbound Interstate 5 between Grand Mound and Centralia will see a weekday lane closure, a news release from the Washington state Department of Transportation (WSDOT) announced.

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, the right lane of southbound I-5 will close south of Grand Mound near milepost 88. The lane closure creates a work zone for WSDOT crews to repair guardrails.

The ramp from U.S. Highway 12 to southbound I-5 will remain open throughout the work.

Repairs are scheduled outside of commute hours to help minimize disruptions to travelers, the release stated.

WSDOT advises residents near work zones to slow down, be kind, pay attention and stay calm. Expect delays, leave early or take alternate routes if possible.
