Rainier didn’t score first on Friday against Morton/White Pass, but the Mountaineers did score the final baker’s dozen in a 13-1 league victory.
MWP scored its lone run in the top of the first, but Rainier immediately responded with three in the bottom half before adding two in the second, three in the third, and five in the fourth to hit the 13-run mark.
Blake Fennel went a perfect 3 for 3 and drove in three runs, while Yazama Gurnsey added two doubles and also drove in three runs of his own.
Peyton Sheaffer drove in a pair while going 1 for 3 at the dish, and Tristan Sawyer added two hits, drove in a run, and scored twice.
Jackson Stockdale pitched all five innings, allowing just two hits and the one run, which was unearned, and he also struck out 10 while walking just three.
Liam Pelletier hit a double, drew a walk, and scored MWP’s lone run, while Bryer Kelly picked up the T-Wolves’ other base hit.
MWP (3-14, 2-11) and Rainier (7-7, 7-7 C2BL) will face off again in Morton on Monday.
