NAMIWalks Thurston Mason mental health awareness event and fundraiser is June 6

Residents across Mason and Thurston counties will come together on June 6 for the annual NAMIWalks Thurston Mason — part of the nation’s largest and most vibrant mental health awareness event series.

The event runs from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Shelton High School track field, located at 3737 North Shelton Springs Road in Shelton.

Registration opens at 8 a.m. The walk itself begins at 10 a.m.

This year’s theme, “Together We Are NAMIWalks,” reflects the strength, connection, and compassion of our community, event organizers said in a news release.

“NAMIWalks is more than a walk: it’s a movement. Participants leave inspired, empowered, and reminded that no one is ever alone,” event organizers said in a news release.

Every step taken and every dollar raised fuels NAMI’s free programs, advocacy, and support services, making a lasting difference for the 1 in 5 who experience mental health conditions each year.

“Looking at the mental health landscape today, the need has never been greater,” said Marilyn Roberts, Executive Director of NAMI Thurston Mason. “The impact of NAMIWalks is deeply felt, in families, workplaces, schools, and neighborhoods. Each participant helps create a ripple of care and connection. Together, we are unstoppable.”

To participate in NAMIWalks, register at https://www.namiwalks.org/thurstonmason. There is no registration fee, but fundraising is encouraged. Participants raising $100 or more receive the official 2026 event T-shirt. Every dollar raised stays local, powering NAMI’s free mental health programs, education and support services in Thurston and Mason counties.
