No injuries reported in Rochester house fire

No injuries were reported in a fire that broke out at a Rochester home on Sunday. 

Crews with the West Thurston Regional Fire Authority were dispatched to the structure fire in the 7500 block of 187th Avenue Southwest at approximately 10:15 a.m. on Sunday, March 1, according to a news release.

Upon arrival, crews encountered heavy smoke and flames coming from the attic space of the residence. 

Firefighters immediately initiated an offensive fire attack, according to West Thurston.



Mutual aid partners Tumwater Fire, South Thurston Fire & EMS , East Olympia Fire District 6, Grays Harbor Fire District 1, Oakville Fire, Riverside Fire & Rescue and the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office responded to help contain the fire. 

All occupants of the home were safely evacuated and were connected with the American Red Cross. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
