The North Thurston softball team couldn’t catch up with the red-hot Central Kitsap Cougars as the Rams fell 11-1 in five innings Thursday.
Central Kitsap scored five runs in the first inning and added one in the second, two in the third and three in the fifth to complete the run-rule win. North Thurston’s lone run came in the third on an RBI single by Sara Halterman, one of two hits for her on the day.
Syriahs Trolson pitched all five innings and struck out two batters.
Next up for North Thurston (2-5, 1-4 Puget Sound League) is spring break, and the Rams will return Monday, April 13 for a road matchup with Silas (2-6, 2-4 Puget Sound League).
