The white-hot North Thurston baseball team closed out the regular season with a 12-0 shutout of Lincoln Monday to win its 12th consecutive game.

The Rams, who have not lost a game since April 6, rolled to a 5-0 start through the first inning. Senior Kole French ripped a two-run triple, David Perez drove in a run on a sacrifice, and a Lincoln error on Wyatt Albertson’s fly ball scored two.

North Thurston hit three triples, including an RBI three-bagger from Albertson in the third and an RBI triple by Perez in a five-run fifth inning. Zach Albright pitched four shutout innings, allowing just one hit and working around six walks while striking out five. Grady Wright slammed the door in the fifth, striking out the side to end the game.

North Thurston celebrated its seven seniors during senior night festivities: Ethan Shaefer, Kole French, David Perez, Zach Albright, Chase Childers, Grady Wright and Robbie Tweed.

“It was great to send our seniors off on a high note and finish the regular season strong,” North Thurston head coach Joe Meggs said. “We need to continue working hard every day and finding ways to get better. I’m proud of our team for continuing to play hard and for pushing each other. We are excited for the challenge ahead of us.”

North Thurston finishes the season at 16-5 overall and 12-4 in the Puget Sound League, good for second in the Nisqually Division behind Peninsula. Next up for the Rams is the District 3 3A Tournament, which begins May 12.
