A scoreless first 40 minutes turned into a 2-0 game just 10 minutes into the second half as the North Thurston girls soccer team lost by that score at Kelso Thursday night.
The Hilanders raced past the Rams and capitalized on two mistakes in the first 10 minutes of the second half. North Thurston was outshot 10-7.
“Not being able to get the result we wanted always stings. Going into halftime at 0-0, I thought we had a good opportunity to come out and be more dangerous on the attack,” North Thurston coach Tristan Glaser said. “They executed well and we just weren’t able to connect those final pieces to get a goal.”
North Thurston (2-1) will return home next week to square off with Aberdeen Tuesday, Sept. 15.
