The Northwest Christian volleyball team got back in the win column Tuesday with a sweep of Forest Ridge at home.
After a tough outing against Rainier last Thursday, the Wolverines came out on fire against Forest Ridge with a 25-12 first-set domination. Northwest Christian was tested in the second set but pulled away with a 25-23 win. The Wolverines closed out the sweep by prevailing 25-16 in the third.
“We had some hiccups in the second set and were slow to adjust to their serving and tipping, but we rallied and got on a couple great serving runs,” Northwest Christian co-head coach Sarah Barnard said.
The Wolverines recorded a whopping 23 aces, led by six from Addy Hentges and six from Jess Collins. Ashlynn Hutchings tallied a team-high seven kills and 10 digs, while Hentges added six kills and five digs. Collins recorded 19 assists, three kills and two digs.
Northwest Christian (4-1) will face another challenging 2B team Wednesday when it travels to Adna. The Wolverines will close out the week at home against Pope John Paul II Thursday.
