Northwest Christian no-hits Darrington to improve to 2-0

The Northwest Christian baseball team threw a combined no-hitter Thursday in a 20-2 win over Darrington in five innings at the Regional Athletic Complex.

Parker Cox threw four no-hit innings, striking out eight batters. Sam Bode finished the job with a hitless fifth inning. Freshman Kanakoa Paresa shined at the plate, going 3 for 3 with four RBIs and a double. He recorded his first varsity hits of his career.

“Our guys played a clean game and did what they had to,” Northwest Christian head coach Jordan Potis said.

The Wolverines scored eight runs in the first inning and 10 in the second. Jadon Dillingham and Luke Nickel both drove in two runs. Cox scored three runs while Jack Vahey crossed home plate four times.

Northwest Christian improves to 2-0 on the young season and will face Evergreen Lutheran at Peck Athletic Fields in Tacoma Tuesday, March 24 for the first of two matchups with the Eagles next week.
