Northwest Christian swept by Crosspoint Christian

The Northwest Christian baseball team experienced deja vu Tuesday as it lost to Crosspoint Christian 6-1 in a similar fashion as it did Monday.

One night after the Wolverines defense made untimely errors against the Wildcats, Northwest Christian surrendered four errors. The Wolverines fell behind 6-0 after two innings and couldn’t climb back.

“Kind of a repeat of yesterday really,” Northwest Christian head coach Jordan Potis said. “Pitching did enough, but defense really let us down. Just too many mistakes against a quality team. We’re gonna have to clean some things up before league play resumes.”

Marshall Guyer pitched 3.2 innings for the Wolverines, striking out eight batters and walking six while allowing six runs, all unearned, off three hits. Myles McLain took the mound for the final 2.1 innings, striking out five and finishing the day without giving up a hit. Jadon Dillingham provided the lone RBI  in the fifth on a groundout to score Parker Cox.

Northwest Christian (3-3, 1-3 Sea-Tac League) has now lost three straight games following its 3-0 start and will look to get back on track Thursday in a non-league game against Summit Atlas School at the Regional Athletic Complex.
