The Olympia boys tennis team battled with Curtis at home but fell just short 3-2 Wednesday afternoon.
Two Olympia’s doubles teams were victorious against the Vikings. James Smith and Evan Guan swept Isaac An and Ryan George 6-2, 6-2, while Brandon Phan and Tristan Reck defeated Brandon Vin and Ben Park 6-2, 6-3.
The Bears’ No. 1 doubles team of Jerry Yen and Brian Yen fell 6-7, 7-5, 7-10, in a tiebreaker.
In singles, Nigel Kikuta took Isaac Yeo to a tiebreaker but lost 1-6, 7-5, 6-10. Henry Li was swept by Noah Tran 1-6, 1-6.
“Curtis is usually our toughest competition, and there were two really close matches that could easily go our way at the league tournament, which is when they’d likely get a rematch,” Olympia head coach Chanel Nielsen said.
Next up for Olympia is another home meet against Bethel Thursday afternoon.
