Olympia police arrest suspected drug dealer

An alleged drug dealer was arrested in Olympia on Feb. 17, the Olympia Police Department announced Sunday. 

A neighborhood police officer on proactive patrol contacted an individual who was openly using fentanyl in public, according to the Olympia Police Department The individual allegedly admitted they had just purchased the narcotics minutes earlier from a local dealer.

Officers located and arrested the dealer the same day, and obtained a search warrant for his belongings. While executing the warrant, officers seized: 

  • Approximately ½ ounce of suspected fentanyl in multiple containers
  • Drug packaging materials and digital scales
  • A stolen credit card
  • Six prescription medications not prescribed to the suspect
  • $2,981.39 in cash and coins

The suspect allegedly admitted to distributing fentanyl multiple times per week and was booked into the Thurston County Jail on felony charges. 

The suspect’s name has not been released by law enforcement.
