One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of state Route 510 and Mullen Road Southeast in Thurston County on Friday.
A gray 1995 Honda Civic driven by Amos Volasco, 22, of Rainier, was reportedly traveling eastbound on state Route 510 at approximately 5:57 p.m. on Sept. 11 when he reportedly turned onto westbound Mullen Street Road Southeast and was struck by a gray 2016 Ford Escape driven by Robert Balz, 30, of Yelm.
The Honda had been traveling westbound on state Route 510.
The Honda came to rest in a private driveway, while the Ford came to rest on westbound state Route 510.
A passenger in the Honda, identified by the Washington State Patrol as Malakhi A. Tuiloma, 19, of Davenport, Iowa, was transported to Providence St. Peter Hospital for treatment of injuries he sustained in the crash.
There were three passengers, including a 6-year-old and a 14-year-old, in the Ford at the time of the crash. None were injured.
The roadway was blocked for 47 minutes as a result of the crash.
Volasco was issued a citation for failure to yield.
Drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the crash, according to the state patrol.
