The Adna girls basketball team earned a road win over Rainier on Thursday, taking down the Mountaineers 46-30.

The Pirates were dominant on defense early on, limiting Rainier to just nine points in the first half while they built a double-digit lead.

Rainier was able to get going a bit in the second half, but the hole was too big to climb out of.

“Being in such a tough league gives us plenty of growing opportunities,” Rainier coach Jordan Hunt said. “We will learn a lot from this film. That’s a physical Adna team, and I’m proud of how our girls responded.”

Rainier was led by Lexi Beckman, who scored nine points, while both Alexis Myers and Kaysen Bravo added seven apiece.

McKenna Torrey led Adna with a game-high 17 points, while Alyssa Carroll added 14 and Rhylee Beede scored 11. Ava Humphrey rounded out the Adna scorers with four.

Rainier (5-5, 0-1 C2BL) will head to Shelton on Monday, while Adna (11-1, 1-0 C2BL) will return home to host Napavine on Wednesday.
