Behind another double digit night from Lexi Beckman and Alexis Myers, the Mountaineers picked up a 49-34 victory over the Vikings on Saturday night in Mossyrock.

It’s the first win in three games for Rainier (8-11, 2-5 C2BL) and it clinches the six seed in the Class 2B District 4 tournament. It will take on either Toledo or Toutle Lake, who play on Tuesday, in the first round this weekend.

“Great team win,” Rainier head coach Jordan Hunt said.

Thirty points in the second and third quarter combined gave the Mountaineers plenty of cushion after trailing by two after the first eight minutes. Beckman posted a game-high 16 points and Myers added 12.

Mossyrock (10-8, 0-6) closes the league season versus Onalaska on Tuesday. The Vikings will be the eight seed and could get a rematch with the Loggers in the district tournament. Adyson Barrows led them with 12 points.

“We couldn’t get much going offensively tonight, we didn’t have a great shooting night,” Mossyrock head coach Nick Rashoff said. “I was proud of their effort and we battled all game.”
