Rainier didn’t have a bad day at the plate against Toutle Lake on Tuesday, but they weren’t able to keep pace with Toutle Lake in an 11-6 loss in a non-league meeting between the two teams.
The Ducks and Mountaineers combined for seven runs in a high-flying first, and Toutle Lake added seven more runs of its own across the third, fourth, and fifth to take an 11-5 lead.
Rainier got one more run across in the seventh, but it ultimately only made a small dent in the deficit.
Ryleigh Cruse went 2 for 3 with a double and drove in three runs, while Gracie Lantz added two hits and an RBI of her own. Elaina Henry hit an RBI triple and drew two walks, and Khloe Arden added two hits in four trips to the plate.
Rainier (1-4) will be back at home on Thursday to host Winlock.
