Rainier’s Robles, Myers earn top two spots at Rainier Invite

Rainier’s Komaire Robles and Alexis Myers impressed at the Rainier Invite on Wednesday in Rainier, as the two Mountaineers finished in first and second among all racers at the event.

Robles took gold with a time of 20:40.4, and Myers took silver by clocking a 21:53.3.

Mossyrock’s Leah Wedam finished fifth at 224:27.1, and fellow Viking Ella Nolan earned a tenth-place finish by crossing the line at 25:26.8.



Rainier’s trio of Rylee Wilson (25:32.0), Ruby King (25:49.9), and Jaycee Barlow (26:05.3) finished in 11th, 12th, and 13th, securing a team title for the Mountaineers over Rogers (Puyallup) and North Beach, the only other two schools to register a team score.

On the boys side, Rainier’s Brando Gallardo Mendoza was the best area finisher, posting a time of 19:09.8 to finish 12th, while fellow Mountaineer Ryan Barela finished 16th at 19:21.2. Rainier’s Shane Parker also nabbed a spot in the Top 20, posting a time of 19:34.7.

Mossyrock’s best finisher in the boys race was Rory Woods, who crossed the line at 19:42.5.
