Residents invited to register for Lacey Community Academy

The City of Lacey announced in a news release that it invites community residents to register for the second annual Lacey Community Academy.

The seven week academy is an interactive, hands-on program designed to give participants a deeper understanding of how the city operates.

The course is open to people aged 18 and older who live in the Lacey city limits or its Urban Growth Area.

Academy participants will:

• Learn more about Lacey government, including operations, services, and ways to get involved
• Interact with City Council members, leaders, staff, and other civic-minded residents
• See taxpayer’s investments at work
• Get behind-the-scenes tours of the city facilities

The academy takes place on Thursday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m., beginning April 16.

The city will accept applications until March 23 or until all spots are filled. Space is limited to 18 participants.
