River Ridge’s Ripp, Wlodkowski set multiple PRs against Central Kitsap

It was a good day for two members of the River Ridge girls swim team in a Thursday meet against Central Kitsap at Olympic High School.

Ruby Ripp shattered her personal record in the 100-yard freestyle by over eight seconds at 1:17.97 to place fourth and the 50-yard freestyle by over two seconds at 33.27 seconds to finish in fifth place.

Emily Wlodkowski also earned a pair of PRs and top-five finishes, as she took fourth in the 50-yard freestyle at 32.42 seconds and fifth in the 100-yard freestyle at 1:18.93.

Madison Davis set a PR in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:35.86  to come in second place and tie for River Ridge’s best finish during a meet in which Central Kitsap won 115-31. Rosalie Ponce also finished in second in the 100-yard butterfly at 1:40.83.



Madison Smith finished in third place in the 200-yard freestyle with an eight-second PR of 2:59.25. 

Hailey Trapero-Foscue (third at 8:18.97) and Alexis Poggemann (fourth at 8:38.31) both obliterated their previous PRs in the 500-yard freestyle. 

“This is the first time at a meet this season with officials, so we know there are some things to work on tomorrow,” River Ridge head coach Nikki Viehweg said. 

River Ridge will return to action Thursday, Oct. 1 at home against Timberline.
