Toledo picked up another league win on Thursday, topping Rainier 12-6 at home in the first of a two-game set.
The Riverhawks scored in the opening frame to take the lead and added seven more runs over the next two innings to build an 8-1 lead.
Rainier responded with five across the next two frames to make it interesting, but a four-run sixth from Toledo put the game out of reach entering the seventh.
Braylen Lawrence finished with two hits, drove in three runs, and scored twice, while Joaquin Acosta added two hits, an RBI, and three runs of his own.
Ryker Hansen also collected two hits and scored twice, and Nico Acosta added a hit and an RBI.
Rohan Feigenbaum threw the first four and a third, striking out five, while Issac Parmantier faced just one over the minimum in a scoreless two and two-thirds of relief.
Blake Fennel led the Rainier offense with two hits and an RBI, while Wyatt Cughan and Kaden Goodman added Rainier’s other two hits.
Peyton Sheaffer and Wyatt McIntyre notched RBIs of their own, and McIntyre allowed just two hits and four runs (three earned) while striking out five in three innings of relief.
Toledo (9-2, 8-1 C2BL) and Rainier (4-5, 4-5 C2BL) will face each other again on Friday in Rainier.
