The Warriors, already locked into the No. 2 seed for the Class 1A District 4 tournament, couldn’t muster any momentum with the postseason near in a 13-0, five-inning setback to Montesano at home on Friday.
Simon Barth had the lone pair of hits in Rochester’s lineup. Its best chance to get runs across came in the third on a pair of hit by pitches and a walk, but the Bulldogs recorded a strikeout to end the threat.
Montesano plated five runs in the second and a seven-spot in the third. The Warriors (11-7, 9-4 Evergreen) issued 12 walks and threw just two strikeouts amongst their three arms. They close the regular season with a Tuesday contest versus Rainier.
