The Saint Martin’s baseball team Tuesday announced its 2027 coaching staff, led by first-year head coach Ben Harley, who stepped into the head coaching position after spending last year as the team’s assistant and pitching coach.
The Saints’ 2027 staff will include Harley, Cody Anderson, Dan Bower, Ryan Linden, Steve Harley and Cameron Duggan.
“I’m beyond excited about the coaching staff for this coming year. Our goal is to provide an experience for our athletes that allows them to improve themselves both on and off the field, and I feel like this coaching staff provides that foundation to do just that,” Harley said in a release. “Combined between the whole coaching staff is dozens of years of experience, and coaching at every level of college baseball, and they will be able to provide quality leadership and guidance for our student athletes.”
Anderson joins the Saints as the pitching coach after serving in the same role at Bushnell University, where he helped lead the program to the most wins and conference victories in school history. He guided a pitching staff that ranked among the top 25 nationally at the NAIA level and set eight school pitching records.
Prior to Bushnell, Anderson spent a season as the pitching coach at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M after four years as an assistant coach at Bellevue College, his alma mater, where he was named the 2023 Assistant Coach of the Year.
As a player, Anderson starred at Bellevue College before continuing his career at Washington State, making 30 appearances and 22 starts in the Pac-12 Conference, including starting the Cougars’ first no-hitter since 1985. A native of Marysville, Anderson was a standout pitcher at Marysville-Pilchuck High School, earning First Team All-State honors as a senior after throwing both a perfect game and a no-hitter. He brings extensive experience in pitcher development, emphasizing individualized instruction, efficient mechanics, pitch design and the mental side of the game.
Bower joins the Saints as the recruiting coordinator and infield coach after spending the previous season at Washington State, where he helped the Cougars earn their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2010 following a Mountain West Conference Tournament championship. Serving as the team’s outfield coach and first base coach while assisting with hitters and recruiting, Bower helped WSU improve by 13 wins from the previous season and finish second in the conference after being picked to finish near the bottom of the preseason poll.
Prior to Washington State, Bower spent three seasons alongside Ben Harley at Centralia College as associate head coach and recruiting coordinator, helping lead the program to its first winning season since 2010. He also helped the program accomplish back-to-back winning seasons for the first time in more than 30 years, a school-record win total in 2024, and its deepest postseason run in more than two decades in 2025.
Before Centralia College, Bower coached at the University of Akron and Cuyahoga Community College, while also serving as the hitting coach for the Battle Creek Battle Jacks of the Northwoods League during the summer of 2025. Throughout his coaching career, Bower has helped develop five position players who went on to play professional baseball in the independent ranks.
Linden, the Saints hitting coach, returns for his second season on the Saints coaching staff after helping Saint Martin’s post a 10-win improvement during his first year with the program. Prior to joining the Saints, he spent the 2024 and 2025 seasons as an assistant coach at Oregon Tech, where the Owls set the program record for wins in both seasons and earned the first NAIA Opening Round National Tournament appearance in school history in 2025.
During his tenure, Linden has coached multiple Academic All-Americans, including Tyler Horner, who earned back-to-back Academic All-American honors and was named the Academic All-America Team Member of the Year. Before Oregon Tech, Linden served as an assistant coach at Antelope Valley College and was the head coach at Wilson High School, now Silas High School, in Tacoma, where he led the Rams to the WIAA 3A state tournament and was named Pierce County League Coach of the Year.
Steve Harley joins the Saint Martin’s coaching staff as a volunteer assistant after spending four seasons at Centralia College, where he worked primarily with the catchers while also assisting with the pitching staff. During his tenure, seven catchers advanced to four-year programs, including two at the NCAA Division I level, and he coached the 2024 NWAC Gold Glove-winning catcher. Before his time at Centralia College, Harley spent several years coaching at the high school level, including stops at Rex Putnam, La Salle and Valley Catholic. As head coach at Rex Putnam, he guided the program to the 2014 OIBA state championship. At Saint Martin’s, Harley will work primarily with the Saints catchers while serving as the team’s third base coach.
Duggan joins the Saint Martin’s baseball staff as director of operations after concluding his collegiate playing career at Ottawa University Arizona, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in sports leadership. Prior to OUAZ, Duggan spent two seasons at Centralia College, appearing in 80 games and serving as a member of the program’s leadership council. During his sophomore season, he started 49 of 50 games at second base while recording 38 hits, 20 RBIs, and 10 stolen bases. A native of Bonney Lake, Duggan was a three-time all-state selection at Bonney Lake.
Ben Harley expressed his excitement for the 2027 season with the brand-new coaching staff.
“With the returning players we have along with the new signees and experienced additions to the coaching staff, we feel very confident that the program will continue to rise as we head into the 2026-27 school year,” Harley said. “It is an exciting time to be a Saint.”
