The Saint Martin’s University softball program announced Friday the hiring of Phoebe Schultz for the role of assistant softball coach.
Schultz joins the Saints after spending the last two years as an assistant coach at Bellevue College and had a successful four-year playing career at San Francisco State and Utah Tech.
“I am excited to have Phoebe on our coaching staff,” Saints head coach Jim Peterson said in a release. “She will be a welcomed addition to help elevate our softball program.”
As an assistant coach at Bellevue College, Schultz primarily focused on the development of outfield athletes, film and scouting analysis sessions, data and statistical analysis, operations responsibilities, recruiting, strength and training, and social media outreach. During her two seasons at Bellevue, the Bulldogs posted a 46-16 record in NWAC North Region play, made two postseason appearances, saw 14 all-conference selections, and coached four All-Americans.
As a player at San Francisco State, Schultz led the team in home runs and helped the Gators make their first postseason appearance in five seasons. Schultz earned the following honors during her career: CSC Academic All-District (2024), Division II ADA Academic Achievement Award (2023, 2024), CCAA All-Academic Award honoree (2023, 2024), CCAA Spring Academic Honor Roll (2023, 2024), and NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024).
Schultz is a native of Snohomish and holds a master of education in intercollegiate athletic leadership from the University of Washington and a bachelor of arts in sociology from San Francisco State University.
