The Capital volleyball team was aided by a pair of double-doubles from Clara Sandberg and Eliza Mikkelsen as the Cougars defeated Silas 3-1 Tuesday, Sept. 29.
Capital has now won three consecutive games immediately following a three-game skid.
After the Cougars sealed the first set by a score of 25-19, Silas tied the match with a 25-23 victory in set two. Capital finished strong, crushing the Rams 25-11 in the third set and closing the match out with a 25-21 win in the fourth set.
Sandberg totaled 12 kills and 11 digs to go along with four aces, and Mikkelsen tallied 12 kills and 10 digs. Claire Anderson was close to recording Capital’s third double-double with 11 kills and nine digs.
“I’m glad we were able to get another win at home,” Capital head coach Maia Nichols said. “The girls played steady volleyball together and bounced back great after that set two loss.”
Capital (4-3, 3-3 Puget Sound League) will visit the Nisqually Division’s top team in Timberline (7-0, 6-0 PSL) Wednesday, Sept. 30.
