Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) Puget Sound South has announced in a recent news release it will host a weekend bed build, during which over 100 volunteers will build 50 beds for local children who don't have a bed of their own.
Awards will be presented to organizations and individuals who provided significant support to SHP Puget Sound South in 2025.
The bed build will take place from April 24 to 26, with varying times based on volunteer availability, according to the release. Awards will be presented on Saturday, April 25, with times to be determined.
The bed build and award ceremony will be held at Coastal Farm & Ranch, 5500 Martin Way East, Lacey.
“Our community is coming together as we produce and deliver each bed to children in need,” Matthew Ballantyne, chapter president, said. “More people are realizing the very real situation our community faces, which is well above the national average.”
Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to building and delivering beds to children in need, the release stated. Learn more and get involved at shpbeds.org.
