A slow third quarter resulted in the South Puget Sound women’s basketball team to fall to Green River 68-62 in NWAC West Conference action on the road on Thursday, Jan. 28. Jaynee Tanner led the Clippers with 16 points in the loss.
SPSCC held a 14-11 lead after the first quarter and a 31-25 advantage at halftime. Green River then went on a 24-10 run in the third quarter.
The Clippers shot 31.8% from the field and was just 2 for 13 from the 3-point line. They did work on the glass, outrebounding the Gators 56-43. Tanner hauled in 24 rebounds, including 17 defensive rebounds.
Cristazia Cristobal had 13 points for SPSCC, while Mia Martinez and Jerzy Tapusoa had eight points.
Green River hit ten 10-pointers in the game and had 14 steals in the matchup.
