Travelers who use the southbound Interstate 5 Maytown safety rest area in Thurston County will need to make other arrangements, a news release from the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) stated.
From 3 p.m. Monday, March 23, until 3 p.m. Thursday, March 26, the rest area will close to all travelers.
The exit to the safety rest area, located near milepost 93, will also close.
The closure allows WSDOT crews to complete several maintenance projects in advance of the busy summer travel season. Work includes restroom fixture repairs, toilet replacement and plumbing repairs. Crews will also paint, pressure wash, landscape and clear drains, according to the release.
