The South Puget Sound Community College volleyball team finished with a 3-1 record in the Walla Walla Community College/Blue Mountain Community College Preseason Tournament, including wins in each of its final three matches Friday and Saturday.
The Clippers were swept by host Walla Walla (22-25, 17-25, 22-25) to start the tournament Friday, with Victoria Valenti shining with 11 kills, 10 digs and a pair of assists. SPSCC quickly bounced back Friday with a sweep of Shoreline (25-21, 25-16, 25-21). Kylee Phillips pounded nine kills, while Mary Bobryk added seven kills. Jessie McCoy, who dished 26 assists against Walla Walla, recorded 20 more against Shoreline.
On Saturday at Blue Mountain Community College, the Clippers kept rolling with a 3-2 win against Wenatchee Valley (25-22, 16-25, 25-19, 21-25, 15-7) and a 3-1 victory against host Blue Mountain (25-22, 22-25, 25-22, 25-18).
SPSCC (6-4) will participate in the Raider Quad at Pierce College Tuesday afternoon, first against Everett and then against Olympic.
