SPSCC men’s soccer shut out by Tacoma CC

A hat trick by Tacoma Community College’s Nabaz Omar was too much to overcome for the South Puget Sound Community College men’s soccer team, which lost 5-0 to the Titans Wednesday.

Omar put the Titans on the scoreboard with a goal in the 23rd minute, and Takumi Sugihara scored in the 38th minute to give TCC a 2-0 halftime lead.

Two Omar goals in a three-minute span early in the second half put the game out of reach, and Oliver Bayeuer netted an 89th-minute goal for good measure.

SPSCC was outshot 17-8, including 14-3 in shots on goal. Christopher Richardson led the Clippers with three shots. Wyatt Thornycroft recorded two saves in 61 minutes, while Andrew Lang pocketed three saves in 29 minutes.

SPSCC (0-5-1, 0-3-1 NWAC) gets a break before returning to action against Highline Saturday, Sept. 19 at the Regional Athletic Complex.
