The South Puget Sound Community College volleyball team was one set win away from beating Pierce College in four sets, but the Raiders rallied to knock off the Clippers in five on Wednesday, Sept. 30.

The Clippers won the first set 25-17, and Pierce tied the match with a 25-21 victory in set two. SPSCC put together its best set of the season, blasting the Raiders 25-9 in the third. But Pierce College quickly flushed the loss and stole the momentum back by winning set four 25-22 and set five 15-12.

Kryssa Petroff and Mary Bobryk each tallied seven kills for SPSCC, while Jessie McCoy shined with 16 assists, 20 digs, four kills, two aces and a block.

SPSCC (7-11, 1-3 NWAC) will open the month of October at Lower Columbia on Friday, Oct. 2.
