The South Puget Sound Community College volleyball team snapped out of its funk Friday night, earning its first win in almost three weeks with a sweep of Green River at home.
SPSCC had lost six in a row prior to Friday’s victory. The Clippers led nearly wire to wire in the first set and triumphed 25-19, and they erupted to start the second set with a 9-1 run. They led by as many as 14, but the Gators clawed back to make it a more respectable score of 25-17.
SPSCC pulled away from a slim 13-11 lead in the third set with an 8-0 run and won 25-15.
Kylee Phillips led the Clippers with eight kills, four aces and two digs, while Anastasia Morokhova provided six kills and 12 digs.
SPSCC (7-10, 1-2 NWAC) will travel to Tacoma to face Pierce College Wednesday, Sept. 30.
