South Puget Sound Community College’s women’s basketball team dominated from the opening tip Tuesday night, rolling to an 81–49 NWAC West Conference victory over Tacoma Community College in Olympia.
The Clippers (14-7, 5-2 NWAC) jumped out to a commanding 25–11 first-quarter lead and never looked back, holding Tacoma to just four points in the second quarter to take a 40–15 advantage at halftime.
South Puget Sound continued to apply pressure after the break, outscoring the Titans 26–16 in the third quarter before cruising through the fourth. The Clippers finished with 41 rebounds, forced 35 Tacoma turnovers, and converted 21 of 26 free throws.
Jaynee Tanner led SPSCC with 19 points and 15 rebounds, recording a double-double while anchoring the interior. Cristazia Cristobal added 13 points, while Jerzy Tapusoa and Autumn Breedlove provided a spark off the bench with 12 and 11 points, respectively.
Tacoma (1-22 overall, 1-6 NWAC) was paced by Laney Green, who scored 13 points, and Lanasha Lacy, who added 12. The Titans struggled offensively throughout the night, shooting 37.3% from the field and committing 35 turnovers.
