The offensive struggles for the South Puget Sound Community College women’s soccer team continued Wednesday, Sept. 30, as the Clippers were held to just three shots in a 2-0 loss to Highline at Starfire Stadium.
It’s the second time the Clippers have lost 2-0 to Highline in the past week. The two NWAC foes faced off at the Regional Athletic Complex on Sept. 26.
Both teams were held scoreless until the 54th minute when Highline’s Dalila Ortiz scored off an assist by Abby Salinas. Seven minutes later, the Thunderbirds tacked on their second goal, this time from Valeria Salazar Gomez.
SPSCC has mustered just seven shots in its past two games without a goal. Goalkeeper Dariana Calix Villegas collected seven saves in the net for the Clippers.
SPSCC (3-5-3, 1-5-3 NWAC) will visit Tacoma Community College on Saturday, Oct. 3.
