The Washington state Parks and Recreation Commission will hold a special meeting from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Sept. 9 at its headquarters in Lacey to discuss a proposed golf course in Westport, a news release from the commission announced.
This is a hybrid meeting, and the public is welcome to attend in person or online. State Parks staff and commissioners will attend virtually.
During the meeting, the commission and Westport Golf Inc. will discuss the proposed Scottish links-style golf course at Westport Light State Park near Westport. It will also be an opportunity for the commission to raise questions or concerns directly to Westport Golf Inc. and for the company to respond, clarify issues and prepare additional information.
No public comment will be accepted at the Sept. 9 meeting, and no final action will be taken.
There will be another special meeting on Oct. 19 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Aberdeen High School Auditorium. During that meeting, the commission will review the proposal from Westport Golf, Inc. and take public comment. No final action will be taken.
Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission Headquarters are at 300 Desmond Drive Southeast in Lacey.
