Tumwater’s offense found its groove early at home against Centralia on Friday, and the Thunderbirds rolled to a 69-40 victory, their eighth in a row.
Tumwater scored 23 points in the first before adding 17 in the second, and they took a 23-point lead into the locker room at halftime.
Centralia had its best offensive quarter in the third, where it scored 15, but Tumwater was able to maintain its lead before adding on in the fourth and final frame.
Julian Balsley and Tyler Johnson finished with a game-high 14 points to lead the T-Birds, while Braeden Konrad scored 13 points and added five rebounds, four assists, and four steals.
Luke Overbay added 12 points, eight rebounds, three steals, and a pair of assists, and Ethan Bello finished with six points, three steals, and three assists. Owen Reamer also added six points of his own.
Johnny Ruiz led the Tigers with 13 points, and Trevor Griffis also hit double-figures with 10. Joseph Aguilar scored eight, and Kadin Yeung finished with six.
Centralia (2-9, 0-2 2A EvCo) will return home to host Shelton on Tuesday, and on the same night, Tumwater (9-1, 2-0 2A EvCo) will host Black Hills.
