The Tumwater girls basketball team traveled to Centralia on Thursday and ended the Tigers’ four-game winning streak by handing them a 46-42 defeat.

It was close throughout, as the two sides were tied at 18 entering the half, and just two points separated them entering the fourth.

A three-pointer each from Claire Buono and Mya Burke helped Tumwater hold on to its slim lead in the fourth, the highest-scoring frame of the night.

Maesyn Williams finished with a team-high nine points to lead the T-Birds, while Kamryn Wilson added eight. Both Raygen Cooper and Malia Eggers tallied six points apiece, while Anden Demaris scored five.

Brooklyn Sprague led the Tigers with 12 points, Makenzie Erickson added eight, and both Ayana Saucedo and Estella Bussanich pitched in six.

Centralia (10-2, 1-1 2A EvCo) will head to Shelton on Tuesday, and Tumwater (6-6, 1-1 2A EvCo) will host Black Hills the same evening.
